Situated in a prime site next door to the Carling Academy Birmingham, the 289 capacity Bar Academy is one of the most entertaining bars in the City. Upstairs, the 200 capacity venue boasts a Thunder Ridge Sound System and is the perfect stage for intimate shows, the live diary boasts regular gigs by rising stars, local bands and live PAs.
In addition to its own regular club nights and gigs, Bar Academy acts as a pre-club bar to Carling Academy Birmingham's two weekly club nights Ramshackle (every Friday) and Subculture (every Saturday) and is of course the perfect after-show hang out to mingle with stars from the Carling Academy Birmingham stage. Bar Academy is also the only place to check out some of the best small club nights Birmingham has to offer, where our DJs spin an eclectic mix of music from blues and garage rock to electro, indie and today’s guitar cool.
